Awards Concert Wednesday

Join us for our final concert of the year, our Awards Concert, at 7pm on Wednesday.  We’ll be celebrating all of the fantastic performances of this past year, as well as saying goodbye to our seniors.  Admission is free.  We’ll join together for cake afterwards thanks to the Friends of Cleveland Bands.

Speaking of serving cake, we are in need of six volunteers to slice and distribute cake.

**We are requesting the parents of Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors volunteer for this easy task, so that our Senior parents can sit back, relax, and enjoy their child’s final CHS concert**

FOCB meeting

Join us in the band room on Monday, May 6th at 6:30pm for an important meeting of the Friends of Cleveland Bands.  We’ll be electing new directors for next year, as well as voting on revisions to our organization’s bylaws.

State Preview Concert

Join us on Thursday, May 2nd at 7pm for a truly amazing concert!  Cleveland’s Jazz Ensemble, Choir and Wind Ensemble have all qualified to compete for their respective State Championship.  This concert will feature each group performing the set of music they intend to perform for adjudication.

This will be an incredible experience for families, as well as the public.  Please invite your co-workers and neighbors.  They will not be disappointed.

State Solo & Ensemble contests

We had a big weekend this last weekend, and as I list the results, I must state that EVERY group and soloist did an incredible job!  I am so proud of the work that these students showed and musicality that they presented.

I would also like to thanks some parents that were so instrumental (pun intended) in helping me run the 2024 State Chamber Music Contest.  You all made me look really good. 😊

PIL JV Band Festival recap

Both the Concert and Symphonic Bands performed for adjudication at the PIL JV Band Festival held at Lincoln HS on Thursday, April 18th. The panel was full of experienced adjudicators, so I was excited for our groups to receive a fantastic clinic and feedback from them.

The Concert Band received great feedback and had their best performance of the year, receiving two superior ratings.

The Symphonic Band received some incredible feedback and received two superior scores that would have qualified them to participate in the 5A State Band Championships!

I am very proud of every student that put forth great effort in accomplishing these fine performances.  The future is bright at Cleveland HS!!
